Join the Treasure Seekers on July 26th for an interesting and fun-filled trip to Cullman and Hanceville, Alabama.

We’ll meet at the church at 8:45 a.m. and leave for the Burrow Museum outside of Cullman. This museum houses a $9.5 million collection of more than 5,000 pieces from around the world collected by Evelyn and Otis Burrow. They have donated a building and the collection to Wallace State Community College, but the collection will be a rotating one when the building is finished. We’ll get to see it all!! Object d’art in the museum date as far back as the 1600s. Other pieces are so rare that they are priceless. The museum boasts one of the largest known collections of horse sculptures in existence (inspired by the Burrows' Tennessee Walker, Ebony’s Leading Lady, a 1965 World Champion).

After a leisurely lunch at All Steaks in Cullman, we’ll go to the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Hanceville. This is a monastery and a church for Mother Angelica to house her Poor Clare Nuns of Perpetual Adoration. Four families donated the money for the land, the monastery, and the shrine, and it remains financially independent of the EWTN network, which Mother Angelica started. This edifice is one of the most beautiful and spectacular churches in existence. The gold, diamonds, marble, stained glass windows, and grounds are truly breathtaking.

We should be back in Huntsville around 5 p.m.
