Covenant Presbyterian Church - Huntsville, Alabama

Adult Sunday School
Our Sunday School classes are really just small groups that happen to meet Sunday mornings at 9:45. They tackle a very wide variety of topics. Some are studious, some are chatty, all are aimed at helping you understand Him better.

Faith Builders Print

ImageThe Faith Builders class meets in the chapel, but we're NOT the Chapel Class. Everyone calls us that, for some reason. Our sessions are mostly lecture style, with a team of enthusiastic teachers bringing fresh insights on Biblical topics. Everyone is welcome. Coffee is always available. Women's Inspirational Class Print
The Women's Inspirational Class is a prayer and support group dedicated to applying God's Word to our everyday experiences in life. We value each other's opinions and do a lot of "discussing" of topics common to everyday life. We are a very diverse group not only in our ages, but also in our thoughts and experiences. We are a very loving and caring group, concerned with all aspects of each others lives. We also enjoy getting together for luncheons. These are usually held after the 11 am service on Sundays, and guests are welcomed. We love to eat about as much as we love to talk. We welcome newcomers and anyone who enjoys sharing their faith with others. The facilitator for this class is Lana Stapler. Room 3

Current Study in the Women's Inspirational Class:
"The Job Christ Gives" and "The Power Christ Provides".

Understanding the Bible Print
A class for those who want an in-depth study of the Bible, literally going verse by verse. The class is intended for those who desire to know the facts of the scriptures. This class meets around a large table, with room for Bibles, notebooks, and other references. The dissertation is based on the original languages of the Bible, to ensure that the truth of the scriptures is evident and is easily understood. Bible research tools such as The Interlinear Hebrew Old Testament Bible, Vines Expository Dictionary of Old and New Testament Words, and The Bible Exposition Commentary are referred to for our studies.

The class, though academic, is informal, in that questions and discussions are welcome concerning the dissertation. Through searching the facts of the Bible, the intent is to learn how the word of God applies to our daily lives. This is vital to our future since Jesus taught His lessons in a way that would teach us the facts that would lead us to be with Him in Heaven in eternity. John 3:16-17 is the key to our future. We have the opportunity to claim this promise of eternal life with Him if we know and understand the way that Jesus told us to follow. Instructor: Will Gibson. Room 1

The Bible Class Print
Our class is devoted to a continuous study of the entire Bible - book by book, chapter by chapter. Now in our fifth reading cycle, we have finished our study of  Ruth and have begun our study of I Samuel.
Moderators: Hartwell Lutz, Doug McDowell, Bill Peyton, Jack Royster, Bruce Williams. Room 4

Intercessory Prayer Print
This Sunday School group puts into practice Covenant's emphasis on prayer.  We meet together to lift our congregation, community, nation, and world in prayer. Join us on a regular basis, or just drop by if you would like for us to pray specifically for you.. Leader: Diana Gibson. Administrative Assistant's Office

Discovering Covenant Print
This brief course is taught periodically for those who seek to become members of Covenant Presbyterian Church. We will examine what it means to claim Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, living a life of discipleship, the essential tenets of the Reformed faith, and Presbyterianism. Watch for this class on the calendar.
Teacher: Rev. Hal Oakley. Fellowship Hall or as listed on the calendar.
