Volunteers needed for Serving the City as One Print

       We are looking for team leaders and participants for the following projects:

 

Hospital Handoutneed team leader                                               Family Friendly

      Free tokens and/or goodies at parking garages

Estimated time: morning, 2-3 hrs

 

Water/Soda Giveaway (we’ve done this on our own)—                     Family Friendly

need team leader 

      Hand out free drinks at intersections, parks, etc.           

Estimated time: various times, 2-3 hrs

 

Gas Station Window Washingneed team leader

      Wash car windows while people are pumping gas         

Estimated time: morning, 3-4 hrs

           

Environmental Projects (clean up parks, creeks, etc.)                        Family Friendly

Clean up parks, creeks, help with Keep Huntsville Clean

Estimated time: various times and durations

 

Sewing Projects—Jean Roberts

      Hospice t-shirts, adult bibs, headbands, preemie blankets

Estimated time: various times and durations

 

School Projects (landscaping at schools)—need team leader              Family Friendly

      Paint (inside and out), landscape, etc. at several area schools

Estimated time: various times and durations

 

Salvation Armyneed team leader

Serve breakfast, clean up

Estimated time: morning, 3-4 hrs

 

Huntsville Assistance Programneed team leader                         Family Friendly

Painting, general cleanup

Estimated time: morning, 2-3 hrs

 

Second Mile Ministryneed team leader                                       Family Friendly

Clean up, paint preschool for low income families

Construction Projects – Bob Barnes

Home maintenance and repairs, wheelchair ramps, paint, etc.

Fall 2010 Pre-school Registration Print

Looking for a loving, Christ-centered preschool for your child? Covenant Preschool offers classes for children ages 1 through 4.  Our hours are 9am to 1pm five days a week. 

We will begin registration for our current students of Covenant Preschool on Tuesday, February 9.  Children of our Covenant Church family begin registering on Tuesday, February 16.  Registration will open to the public on Tuesday, February 23rd.  Some of the classes fill up very quickly, so we urge you to sign up early.

Church-wide retreat Print
Mark your calendars and plan to attend Covenant's church-wide retreat this April 30 - May 2 at the Maranatha Camp and Conference Center!  More details to come...
 
Covenant Caregivers Seminar Series Print

As part of Covenant's Wednesday Night Alive Program, we are presenting a series of seminars addressing needs and concerns of caregivers.  This series is available to anyone in the community who is currently dealing with caregiving or who anticipates becoming a caregiver in the future.  Seminar presenters will include experts from agencies that provide support to caregivers and to those they give care.  All seminars will be presented at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 301 Drave Ave. SE.

Seminars are scheduled every Wednesday evening, beginning January 6 and running through March 10.  Except as noted, all seminars run from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.  There is no charge for any of the presentations.  For more information, contact Rev. Book Club: Saturday Morning Becomes First Friday Print

Covenant's Saturday Morning Book Club is now the First Friday Book Discussion Group and will meet the first Friday of every month beginning February 5.  The group will meet in the library from 9:00 to 10:30.

For the group's first meeting on February 5,  Dawn Reiss will lead a discussion of Donald Miller's book, "A Million Miles in a Thousand Years: What I Learned While Editing My Life." 

You are invited to attend whether you have read the book or not.  Come, enjoy food and fellowship, and help decide what book to read and discuss in March.
