Our Mission is " To make disciples of Jesus Christ who love God, love each other, and serve in the world."
We take it seriously. Everything we do at Covenant is measured against this simple mission statement. So how do we carry out the mission? Lets break it down:
"To make disciples" - A disciple is follower - not just an acquaintance. How do you make a disciple? We make disciples by growing them. We start with ordinary people; ordinary, quirky, flawed, broken people. We haven't started with a perfect person yet, but when we find one, we'll let you know. We help each other grow at Covenant, through bible study, prayer, serving, and just being around other people who are growing.
"of Jesus Christ" - Whom do we follow? It matters. Click here to find out just who we believe this Jesus is.
"who love God" - We show our love through our works and our worship. We view worship as an essential and joyous element of our sprirtual life. Worship at Covenant takes many forms. We have our regular weekly worship services, and special events throughout the year. Some services are traditional and formal, some are casual and spirited. You're always welcome to any and all of them!
"love each other" - We're a family, and we care for and support each other like family. From a special friend you made in a small group to the caring ministry of our Deacons, we struggle to show His love to each other. Not only do we love each other, we LIKE each other! God loves us, and that makes us happy, so why not party? We use any lame excuse to get together and have a good time. We call this "fellowship." That's church-talk for partying!
"and serve in the world." - The world's a messy place. We believe God calls us to get messy! We're a sending church. We've sent people across town and to the far corners of the globe to help spread His word and show His love. We believe in missions! We've set ambitious goals for financial support of missions, and lots of our members are personally involved in missions of every kind.
