They’re Playing “Bryan’s Song”!
Director of Music Bryan Page and the adult choir had their first practice in the new first floor Music Room on Wednesday, February 4. All pronounced the new area a success. Ray Townsley and Dick Felix did the carpentry work to move Bryan’s workstation from the basement to Bryan’s new office. Now Bryan wants a couch in his office!!
More Good News – Bathrooms Now Open!
At the same time that the Music Room opened, the two bathrooms on the first floor were reopened. Now you don’t have to walk all the way up to the children’s wing when nature calls. Everything is functional and the “brown” water is gone. There are still some finishing touches to be completed.
Reminder: How Do You Get to the Church Office?
With continued demolition, plus construction of the elevator and new library, the doors into the Chapel (temporary church offices) are within the construction zone and cannot be used to get into the office. Here are the directions that will help you find Hal, Mark, Fran, Debbie, and Marilyn:
1. Walk through the doorway opposite the sanctuary doors.
2. Turn right and go through the bathroom (!)
3. Turn left and you will be at Debbie’s desk in the office.
Adult Sunday School Wing Renovation to Begin February 23
Next Sunday, February 22, will be the last Sunday for classes in the Adult wing of the Christian Education Building. Asbestos remediation and remodeling will begin the following day and take about four weeks to complete.
Note: During this renovation, rooms 1-4 will be open, but only accessible through the south entrance to the adult wing.
Plans have been made for the adult classes to meet during the interim in a new format and all classes have been notified of the new schedule.
You might ask, “Where are all the chairs, tables, and other classroom furniture and supplies going during the renovation?” Good question! Covenant has rented a storage pod which will be brought on site before next weekend. Some of the high school youth have been enlisted to help move everything out of the classrooms into the pod (non-essentials on Saturday morning and chairs on Sunday after church). Covenant will pay the students by depositing money into the HS Mission Trip Fund.
When we’re ready to move back into the classrooms, and into the first floor classrooms in the new building, students will help put the chairs, tables, etc. into the new areas and we’ll send the pod back.
