Covenant Kids

“At Covenant we believe that every page of scripture shows how people are broken, but loved and how God is in control. As a congregation, our theological vision is one that emphasizes this principle teaching of salvation: that even when we were bad, we received the good reward of salvation through Jesus Christ. God does not require us to first behave and then receive this reward. Rather, Christ behaved on our behalf when we were still broken, so that we could receive eternal life and live lives of freedom and love in response to this promise.”

In-Person Children’s Worship 10am on Sunday mornings

Dear parents and friends,

We are excited to have our children with us each Sunday morning for in-person children’s worship! As a brief overview, these are things that will look different than they have in the past:

  1. Masks are now optional for all ages.
  2. Our Nursery will be open from 8:45 -11:30 for children ages 0-2.
  3. Children’s choir will begin at 8:45 and all children ages 3yrs – 5th grade can be checked in and dropped off at the Covenant Kids check-in desk.
  4. Children’s Sunday School will begin at 9am for ages 3 yrs – 5th grade.
  5. Children are welcome to join in the worship service at 10am, and then children aged 3yrs – 3rd grade may leave from the Sanctuary (or Fellowship Hall) at 10:15 to go to Children’s Church following the Children’s Message.
  6. Children who are not picked up from Children’s Church by 11:15am will be taken to the nursery during Hospitality Hour from 11am-12pm.

Warmly,

The Children’s Ministry Team

More about Covenant Kids Ministry: The Presbyterian Church has a rich tradition of reformed theology that shapes our worship and our church vision. Rooted in our tradition is a history of children’s education that is transformative and full of grace.

Sunday Mornings

Children’s Choir (8:45am – 9:00am in The Music Room/Room 8)

Sunday School (9:00am – 9:45am during the school year)

Sunday school is a chance for our children to dive deep into God’s word. Following choir, children break into age-groups to learn more about Jesus’ love for them and God’s redemptive plan for his people. We use the Gospel Story curriculum that will ensure that each child will learn about God’s grace throughout the arc of scripture, from Genesis to Revelation, over a three year period through fun engaging lessons.

Please pick up your child in the children’s wing following Sunday School at 9:45.

Service and Outreach

Our children have opportunities to engage throughout the year in outreach and service projects in our community and beyond. We will share upcoming events on this page!

Q&A about Covenant Kids

What safety protocols are in place at Covenant Kids?

Your child’s safety is a priority for our entire team. Team leaders have all completed teacher trainings and background checks and are volunteers who love kids. Our nursery team are a team hired and trained by our Nursery Director, Beth Vest, who previously ran our Covenant Weekday Preschool and who leads our littlest children with love and integrity.

When you arrive at Covenant, easily sign your child into our Covenant Kids check-in, our church-wide child safety sign in system. Our check – in station is located in our Children’s Wing. You can pick your child up using the tag that is printed for you each morning to help our team ensure your child is safe and delivered back to you after a wonderful morning experience.
