Archeology, the Bible, and Ice Cream

6:00PM - 7:00PM

Room 201

Biblical Archeology can add an additional layer of knowledge and understanding that can help us to more fully grasp what the Bible is saying – such as who certain peoples were (e.g. the Canaanites) and in general what was going on during various times of Bible activity.  In addition, there is significant archeology that supports things like the story of David and Goliath.  It is hard to prove that David actually fought Goliath, but the archeology supports such a story – from the customs, to the people involved, to where events occurred, to the use of a sling and stone, etc.

Each meeting will start with reading the relevant scripture, proceeded by watching a video, then taking a break to enjoy some homemade ice cream, and finally reconvening to discuss the video, scripture, and how it adds to our understanding of the Bible.

This group will resume September 13.
