Meals on Wheels Volunteer Opportunity
We have a recently vacated Meals on Wheels route in the Lee High School area of northeast Huntsville and are looking for two volunteers to take it on permanently. This is a safe route that only requires about 2 hours, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, on the 4th and 5th Mondays of each month. The Senior Center prepares and packages the meals—your role is simply to deliver them.

This is a wonderful opportunity to serve as a team, and it’s open to Covenant members, attendees, and even non-Covenant friends.

About Meal on Wheels

• Meals on Wheels provides a lunch meal each weekday, except on holidays, to homebound seniors age 60+ who cannot cook for themselves due to health reasons and have no one to cook for them. More than 58,000 meals were provided last year by the Studio 60 Senior Center for homebound seniors in Huntsville.
• Covenant currently has 7 routes for which we deliver meals on the 4th and 5th Mondays of each month. Our volunteers pick up the prepared meals at the Studio 60 Senior Center on Drake Avenue and deliver them to the recipients on their respective routes.
• This only takes about 2 hours or less from start to finish.
