More about the group: The Mission Stitchers is a group of dedicated women who gather monthly to demonstrate God’s love through creative service. Their primary mission is to bring comfort to children in hospitals and others in crisis by crafting beautiful pillowcases and other handmade items. Beyond their creations, the group is committed to praying for and supporting those who are ill and hurting, while also fostering meaningful relationships within the group.
In 2024, twelve women, including three non-Covenant members, participated in this ministry. Together, they sewed 325 colorful pillowcases that were lovingly delivered to Huntsville Hospital, St. Jude Clinic, Hope Place, and Highlands Elementary School. Additionally, the group made 12 large Christmas gift bags for Huntsville Hospital and contributed to the Linus Project, crafting 200 blankets for the NICU at Huntsville Hospital using donated fabric.
Each gathering is more than just sewing—it’s a time of prayer, fellowship, and shared meals. The Mission Stitchers pray for those who will receive their creations and share moments of connection and support with one another. They extend their ministry even further by donating fabric scraps to other organizations for projects like baby bibs, quilt pieces, and even pet beds.
The Mission Stitchers are deeply grateful for Covenant’s continued support, which makes their work possible. They also thank those who may not be able to join in person but uphold this ministry in prayer. This group warmly invites anyone with a heart for serving God and the community to join them in their mission of love, creativity, and care.
