Serving at Covenant Presbyterian Church
Founded on November 18, 1957, Covenant Presbyterian Church (PCUSA) in Huntsville, AL is a welcoming and active community focused on helping individuals grow in their faith journey. We are passionate about building a vibrant, Christ-centered community where people from all walks of life are invited to grow deeper in their relationship with God and each other.
At Covenant, we believe that serving is a key part of living out our faith. There are countless ways to get involved, whether you’re new to serving or looking for a deeper commitment. We invite you to explore our ministries and discover how your time, skills, and gifts can make a difference in our church family and the broader community.
Children’s Ministry
Our rich tradition of discipleship shapes even our youngest members. Children learn key principles of Reformed theology, including that God is sovereign, humans are broken, and we are deeply loved by God. Opportunities to Serve:
- Faith & Friends (Sundays 9-10 AM): Ages 3 through 5th grade meet in the Fellowship Hall. After a brief choir time, children engage in free play. No teaching or preparation required for volunteers.
- Young Disciples (Sundays 10:45-11:30 AM): After the children’s message during worship, kids learn Bible lessons through pre-prepped crafts and curriculum. Volunteers simply show up and teach.
Youth Ministry
Our Youth Ministry fosters a positive community where 6th-12th grade students can grow in faith together. Volunteers help guide them in worship, service, and building Christ-centered relationships that last a lifetime. Opportunities to Serve:
- Youth Small Group (Sundays 9-10 AM): Lead or assist in a small group discussion.
- Youth Group (Wednesdays 6-8 PM): Join students in worship, discussion, and fellowship.
Worship Ministries
We incorporate diverse music traditions from around the world, helping our congregation connect with believers across time and space. Opportunities to Serve:
- Tech Team: No experience needed! If you can point and click, you’re ready to help on Sunday mornings.
- Music Team: Rehearsals are held on Sundays before the service. All skill levels welcome.
- Choir: Meets Wednesdays at 6 PM. No prior experience is required—come sing and worship with us!
Hospitality Team
Our Hospitality Team ensures that all who enter Covenant feel welcomed and cared for, making their worship experience even more enriching. Opportunities to Serve:
- Early Team (Sundays 8:30 AM): Set up coffee and greet attendees for the 9 AM service.
- Late Team (Sundays 10 AM): Greet, facilitate fellowship time, and assist during the 10:30 AM service.
- You can commit to serving regularly or sign up for a single Sunday each month.
Care Team
In partnership with our Deacons, the Care Team provides support to members of our church family through prayer, companionship, and assistance. Flexible service opportunities make this ministry ideal for those with busy schedules who still want to make a meaningful impact.
Our Ask
- We encourage you to serve three times in the next 90 days—about once a month.
- No preparation needed! Just show up and serve.
- We’ll follow up with you after 60 days to see if you’d like to continue, change roles, or opt out.
